How Soon Can I Take My Newborn Out?My Baby & Me Today I am going to create a fun blog, but one we all think about as parents with our little ones. How soon can I take my baby outside? When we had our little one, we were so protective, especially when we were deciding whether it was worth it to take our baby outside or not. After all, as a newborn, they are still very dependent on Mommy’s immune system. Most pediatricians will agree that you should keep them inside your home until three weeks or so of age, and then only take them out if necessary until the six week mark. Honestly, as a new parent, you are going to so busy with other things, you will not want to take them out. Especially when you realize how much you need to pack to get them ready to go outside! One thing to consider, and this was our experience, is your baby’s reaction to the outside world in terms of allergies or other health related issues. For example, the one thing my baby got from me was my allergy problems. With this in mind, we are VERY cautious when we bring our baby out and recognize that the baby is not able to do things that older allergy victims are, such as, blowing your nose. A baby can’t do that, so where does all that stuff go? Well, it makes things worse, I can tell you from experience. Please pay close attention to this, as it can make your nights very restless if you don’t! |
