How Important is Your Decision on Baby Shoes? How Important is Your Decision on Baby Shoes? By Margaret Gaia
It is pretty important considering your feet are one of the most common areas of your body in heat escapes. Your baby’s feet are tiny, cute, and yes, you want to let the little walk bare footed and free, however you don’t want your baby cold. Many socks and shoes slip off easily so your decision to purchase shoes should be one that impact walking success, comfort, and a warm body. The first, and most important layer which protects the feet, are socks. At first you might pick socks which simply support the feet, are comfortable, and keep them warm. When your baby starts moving around, rolling over, and kicking, what you will find is that the socks often may fall off. Your variety in types of socks you purchase should therefore change, and get more specific, while always keeping comfort and warmth as a top priority. Shoes are the second layer, which provide warmth within the baby’s body. Choosing a shoe can be a bit of a complex decision as a parent, as you might want to lean towards comfort, will enable movement, and will stay on their feet for the duration of the time needed, however it is not that complex at all. Baby shoes are there to protect the feet. Some say that a baby’s feet will develop better without shoes, however as a parent, you know different. It is not at all practical to allow your baby to be without shoes for long periods of time. Comfort and fit should always be the priority as they are there to protect your child, but to also be worn regularly. This might be a bit difficult because of the millions and millions of cute little baby shoes out there. Some advice is to look for air soles, soft soles, and less stiff fabric n the outside. Don’t go too soft as you do need support. Softer soles on shoes always make them weigh less which will enable the baby to wear with comfort without having big weight to carry around. Remember – their muscles have not developed as of yet – so less weight is good. Fit is the next step. Too small will hurt the baby’s feet, yet too big will allow the shoes to slip off and make it very difficult to learn to walk. Touch the toes of your baby’s feet in the shoes and leave a half of inch to an inch, or anywhere in between. Give them room to grow yet enough support to learn to get around with comfort. As a last level of priority we suggest style. Look to get less busy patterns, and shoes that will go with more outfits. Do take a step to at least shop around and the latest baby trends – as you want to make sure your baby is wearing some attractive items. |
