Common Problems in PregnancyCommon Problems in Pregnancy By Margaret Gaia Pregnancy causes so many changes that have an immediate effect on the psychological and physical aspect of a women’s life. It is not simply the pelvic area where a physical change occurs and most can see, but the internal aspects of the change as well. As the baby grows it feeds and interacts with the Mommy’s system, therefore causing change or adaptation, which focuses more on the functions of the body. The entire purpose of these adaptations is to simply create the best environment in your body for your baby’s development. Some other common problems in pregnancy are nausea, fatigue, headaches, changes in attitude, and other things from pains to areas of small discomfort. Let’s explore these common problems further. Nausea Nausea is that feeling of an upset stomach which might lead to vomiting or some type of flulike symptom. It typically occurs in the early morning and tapers off in the afternoon. Fatigue Everyday tasks will certainly feel harder to perform, as your body is working harder and harder to develop a new life. It is natural for you to feel tired at the end of your day. Headaches These are normal to have – however if the experience continues or they begin to happen more frequently, you need to discuss this with your doctor. Attitude You might experience mood swings during your pregnancy, which is normal. As hormones and emotions continue to change, it is difficult to keep up with, and your body is stressed. This, as a result, is going to cause specific mood swings that sometimes you might not be able to control. Constipation Your body is producing high levels of progesterone – and therefore this will cause bowel movements to potentially slow down. A new life developing and pressing again your large bowel can also cause constipation. Other areas are leg pains, stress, fluid retention, back pains, indigestion, skin irritation and fatigue more often. These are all very common – they are all normal. As with anything, if these problems persist are get worse, it is always a good decision to speak to your doctor about potential treatment opportunities. You need to make sure you try and experience pregnancy as comfortable as possible. |
