Attitudes with 2 Year Olds...Terrible Twos! Some mornings I wake up with my two year old and he is absolutely awesome, yet some mornings...he is in a mood and I just don't understand. He is two, and for anyone who has two year olds out there, you know the little one sometimes can't tell you what is wrong. It is typical frustration that makes your little on upset. September 7th, 2010 Boo Boos and Our Babies My Baby & Me Well it happened big this time! I was waiting for the double skinned knees and the busted toes from a fall. I hear what you are saying – get used to it – right? Truth is – it was not that bad. Not the little man was milking it the entire night. He had dinner in bed and hugged on mamma all night, with a bottle. What was I supposed to do – I felt sorry for the little guy. August 24th, 2010 At What Age Do Babies Talk? My Baby & Me Funny thing – interesting topic. At what age to babies talk? Does gender matter? Is it different for everyone, or around the same time? Our baby is two as of Aug 2010. He has a little friend down the street that is two years, five months old. Both are boys. His friend is talking up a storm…full sentences, answering questions, etc. My baby boy is saying words….but still baby talk. We took a look at the differences. August 17th, 2010 How Soon Can I Take My Newborn Out? My Baby & Me Today I am going to create a fun blog, but one we all think about as parents with our little ones. How soon can I take my baby outside? When we had our little one, we were so protective, especially when we were deciding whether it was worth it to take our baby outside or not. After all, as a newborn, they are still very dependent on Mommy’s immune system. Most pediatricians will agree that you should keep them inside your home until three weeks or so of age, and then only take them out if necessary until the six week mark. Honestly, as a new parent, you are going to so busy with other things, you will not want to take them out. Especially when you realize how much you need to pack to get them ready to go outside! August 11th, 2010 Leading by Example My Baby & Me You know every time I come home from work, or for the weekend, or simply just wake up it seems my baby is learning more and more. He has gone from saying Da Da Da to Mom, to actually learning words and calling people by name. My baby is 18 months old and is actually saying his one, two, three’s and a, b, c’s. Learning in babies seems to be just and amazing concept to me and I am enjoying every second of it. It seems that I can’t teach enough which brings me to my point. As a parent, being a good leader, example, and action oriented person has got to be of crucial importance. Witnessing my baby learning things so quickly leads me to believe that he is watching my every move as well. I sit sometimes and observe him watching Mommy cook, or watching Daddy shower, eat, or even go to the bathroom. He is truly just amazed by the most simplistic things to me, yet he is trying to learn and will eventually want to do things just like Mommy and Daddy. This is where leading a good, action oriented life, will help in picking up good habits and I am of the opinion it is never to early to start. For example, something as simply has having a potty mouth as a parent, will lead to your baby repeating words that you say. Funny story – I called my brother-in-law a bad name and now my 18 month old simply thinks that is his name!!! November 18th, 2009 Living From the Heart Living From the Heart by Katherine Hughes I tend to over think things…I’ll pause here to let those who know me well finish laughing. I have feelings but I tend to trust my brain more than my heart when it comes to making decisions. I guess I am not proud of some decisions that I have made that were made from emotions. So I stopped listening to and following my heart. But what I have learned is that all my fears come from my mind. I am not advocating turning your brain off and only listening to your heart, but I do think that your heart knows you better than your brain. Your brain knows a lot of stuff that can distract you and confuse you, but your heart knows you. |
