Week 39 of Pregnancy

Your Baby and Changes…

At week 39 of pregnancy your baby will not grow much passed this point, but their brain is still developing.  You babies skin will be white as they have not development pigment yet.  You baby may have dropped by now, this is when the babies head moves further into your pelvis.  You should now be able to breathe with less effort.

Your Body and Changes…

Time is near now; here are some of things to watch for now.
  • Braxton Hicks Contractions  - These are like practice for labor.  These contractions can last from 20 seconds to two minutes.  They can increase in intensity and frequency as you near the big day, and for some start much earlier in their pregnancy.
  • Water Breaking – Or Rupture of Membranes to be technical.  When you baby is ready to meet you the amniotic sac will burst.  Not every woman’s water breaks, actual most don’t break before the mother enters the birthing room.  If you are one of the few whose water will break before you go into labor, rest assured it is not as you’ve seen it on tv; If you water does break, you will most likely be in full labor within 24 hours, and if that doesn’t happen most doctors will begin the process.  Water breaking is your amniotic sac releasing the fluids that you baby has been living in.  You will know that you water has broken if the fluid is clear and has not odor and you can not stop as you might be able to if you were holding in pee. Consult your doctor if you leak any colored fluids.  Some babies can have a bowel movement before birth and this is very dangerous, so if you leak colored fluids alert your doctor immediately.
  • Loss of Mucus Plug – this seals the opening of the uterus.  You should watch for this, and mention it to your doctor, but no need to wake him up to share this piece of information.
  • Bloody Show - As your cervix opens and its blood vessels are bursting a pink or brown colored discharge will result.   As this doesn’t happened to every woman this is a sure sign you are beginning labor soon – but don’t wake your husband, it can be days.

Since they will eventually graduate from breast milk and formula milk alone, slowly introduce solid foods to them as they reach seventh or eighth month. Solid food will definitely give them sustenance especially with all the developments they are going through. But, because your kids’ intestines are not that stretchable at an early stage, parents should not force them in eating solids before they reach sixth or seventh month.

They are able to block out all obstacles existing for being a single parent and put their children's well being as a top priority.
The first thing parents must recognize is that the baby is simply not ready to be in the world yet after nine months of comfort in the Mother. A lot of doctors claim that babies are not ready for the world until the age of three months. They start smiling, cooling, wiggling arms and legs, trying to roll over, and even making funny faces. Babies tend to cry as they only know this form of communication. If they are tired, hungry, restless, uncomfortable, hot, cold, or any other reason for explanation, they cry out where you and I may community by talking and reasoning. Babies also have gas. More often times than not this is very uncomfortable and until it is over, they cry. So how do you sooth a baby who is crying out for comfort?
