Week 23 of PregnancyYour Baby and Changes… Your baby has reached a significant milestone at week 23 of pregnancy. He is now over one pound, weighing in at or around 1.1 pound. That is quite an accomplishment for someone that used to weigh less than one ounce. Your baby at 23 weeks is now the size of a small baby doll you might purchase for a little girl. That's pretty impressive considering your baby could fit in the palm of your hand just a few short weeks ago. Your baby is also about 11 inches long by pregnancy week 23! The amount of changes your baby is experiencing during your twenty third week of pregnancy is nothing short of astonishing. His skin is still red in color, and very wrinkled in texture. Some other interesting developments in your baby are the bones located in his middle ear. By the twenty third week, they are starting to form. The rest of your baby’s body is filling out and looking more proportionate. Your Body and Changes… Your uterus is continuing to grow and expand at 23 weeks pregnant, and by now is about 1.5 inches above your bellybutton. You probably have a story or two to tell about how you’ve tripped or almost fell down because your movements are less and less graceful at this stage. Your baby on the other hand, seems to be growing more and more comfortable moving around inside of you. After all, he has lots of room to move in your uterus now, so his movements are probably quite strong at this point. You probably feel lots of flipping and flopping, and may even notice your stomach moving about! Don’t be surprised if the mood swings that haunted you early in the pregnancy are coming back with a vengeance. This is all perfectly normal in the twenty third week of pregnancy. Articles
