Week 15 of PregnancyYour Baby and Changes… At week 15 of pregnancy, your baby now weighs almost two ounces and measures between four and one half inches from the top of his head to his bottom. If you were to look closely at his body, you would notice a fine type of hair called lunugo growing on his body. He will lose this hair before birth. Hair is also growing on top of his head, too, a His eyebrows are also beginning to develop. Your baby is also beginning to stretch his legs and arms and you may very well start feeling him kick. Don’t confuse the kicking with gas bubbles! Your Body and Changes… Your pregnancy is progressing quite a bit and you continue to notice little changes. Don’t be so sure those bubbles or crazy feelings in your stomach are gas. While those odd feelings in your stomach might feel like gas, there is a high likelihood that you are feeling the baby moving around. Often first time mothers confuse those tiny kicks or punches with gas pains. It’s at this stage in pregnancy that your baby is kicking his legs and moving his elbows. As it relates to your teeth and gums, this is definitely the time frame that you start noticing your gums will bleed more or will become inflamed. You might start noticing a heavier build up of plaque on your teeth and it might tickle or even hurt to brush your teeth. All of this is perfectly normal and to be expected at or around week fifteen. It’s also very common during week fifteen or beyond to have nose bleeds or a chronically stuffy nose. Do not be surprised if you start losing your breath very easily. As frustrated as you might start getting as it relates to your breathless feeling walking up a short set of stairs, this is just the beginning. The reason for this feeling, and the reason it will only get worse over the pregnancy is your uterus is pushing up against your diaphragm, leaving little room for the lungs to expand. As your uterus continues to expand, so does the pressure on your lungs, making the breathless feeling very common throughout the remainder of your pregnancy. It's nothing to worry about unless there are points where you just can’t catch your breath. If that’s the case call your doctor to make sure everything is ok. Articles
